About me
Dionei Galdino Da Silva, an Italo-Brazilian based in London, also known as “Dino Galdi”, is a Polymathic Artist creative professional, studied Heritage and Musicology at the University of Trento, in Italy.
"From the still image to the moving image, his artistic trajectory integrates photography, cinema, theater, and audiovisual direction in an ongoing research on narrative, memory, and visual language."
STATEMENT
My artistic production is born from the encounter between photography, cinema, and performance. I am interested in investigating how the image — still or in motion — is capable of preserving memories, constructing narratives, and transforming the perception of space, time, and the human experience. By moving between different languages, I seek to develop an artistic practice in which every photograph, scene, or direction constitutes part of the same research on the gaze and the contemporary condition.
ARTISTIC TRAJECTORY
Born in Santa Catarina – Brazil, Dino Galdi moved to Italy to study Cultural Heritage and Musicology at the University of Trento. There, his artistic foundation was shaped by rigorous training in cinematography, theater, and sound design — disciplines that would later converge in his multidisciplinary practice.
His trajectory is defined by a continuous dialogue between the static and the moving. Photography taught him to observe. Theater taught him to understand the human being. Cinema taught him to transform the gaze into narrative. It is from this encounter that his artistic production is born.
Working between London, Rome, and Santa Catarina, Dino has developed a body of work that transcends disciplinary boundaries — moving fluidly between the set, the stage, and the frame, always in search of the essential gesture, the light that tells a story, and the honest performance.
